This 18” wide Super 400 is one of three guitars referred to as the,”Art Deco Series”. They are: the Sophisticated Lady, Jazz Moderne and the Auburn.
The pickguard and matching truss rod cover are handmade of swirling Italian plastic with mother of pearl stair step borders. The Gibson logo in the pickguard is hand cut from 14 K Gold and mother of pearl banners.
The back of the guitar has a hand painted scene of a posh hotel lobby with an elegant,” Sophisticated Lady “, descending the staircase with her two Borzoi Dogs. The chandelier is hand cut and inlaid of abalone and engraved mother of pearl.
