The Kunkel Jazz Deco – 17” Convertible Acoustic/Electric Archtop
I also build Carved Top Jazz guitars. My Jazz Deco is at the top of the line. It is an electric guitar but converts to acoustic by replacing the pick guard. There is a 1/8”mini jack inside the body which unplugs allowing the electric pickguard that carries the floating passive pickups to be removed and a non-electric pick guard to replace it. The volume control and pickup selector switch is on the electric pick guard and so there are no knobs and switches on the guitar’s body. Once replaced with the acoustic pick guard, the guitar is a purely acoustic guitar.
